Film Capacitors

KEMET Film Capacitors are available as a complete line of power film and paper capacitors, available in both surface-mount and through-hole form factors. These devices are designed for use in all types of electronic equipment in various industries. KEMET Film Capacitors are ideal for power and alternative energy, industrial, telecommunications, automotive, military, medical, and consumer electronics.

AEC-Q200 Qualified Film Capacitors

KEMET AEC-Q200 Qualified Film Capacitors feature capacitance values ranging from 10pF to 210µF with 2% to 20% tolerances. These automotive-qualified capacitors offer a low ESR (1.4mΩ to 1kΩ ESR range), resulting in a high ripple current rating without sacrificing capacitance. The components also exhibit high 30VAC to 700VAC / 50VDC to 2kVDC voltage ratings.

Automotive Powertrain Solutions

KEMET Automotive Powertrain Solutions help deliver analytics and intelligence to the powertrain subsystem of a vehicle. Automotive powertrains require components that can withstand harsh temperatures up to +200°C and beyond. The powertrain subsystem of a vehicle is comprised of all the devices and systems in charge of the propulsion of the car. This includes the engine, transmission, energy recovery systems, electric motors, and their associated sensors and controllers.

C4A Radial Film Caps for High-Power Applications

KEMET C4A Radial Film Capacitors for High-Power Applications offer low ESR, resulting in a much higher ripple current rating without sacrificing capacitance. These products come in two styles: a polypropylene metallized film capacitor, a polypropylene metallized film, and a polyester double-metalized foil capacitor. Both versions have a rectangular, plastic box-type design, filled with resin, and use 2 or 4 tinned wires. KEMET C4A Radial Film Capacitors with high voltage ratings are ideal for DC-Link and high-power applications. Capacitors with a combination of low ESR, efficient CV, and high voltage rating are useful for energy storage and EMI filtering.

DC-Link Film Capacitors

KEMET DC-Link Film Capacitors act as an intermediary DC smoothing stage between AC stages. The intermediate DC step allows noise-reduced power transfer when converting between AC sources of different power, frequency, or voltage conditions. DC-link capacitors frequently experience high slew rates that can be detrimental if a suitably robust capacitor is not selected. These capacitors from KEMET are often found in power inverters, high-power charging circuits, and motor drives. Capacitor technologies are sometimes mixed in DC-link applications to target transients and noise that potentially need multiple stages of filtering.

Harsh Environment Film Capacitors

KEMET Harsh Environment Film Capacitors feature a 0.1µF to 600µF capacitance range and 5% or 10% tolerance. These film capacitors are ideal for numerous applications, including but not limited to capacitive power supplies, automation, energy storage, and AC harmonic filtering. KEMET Harsh Environment Film Capacitors feature the following series: C4AF, C4AQ, F862, and F863.

Medium/High Power Polypropylene Capacitors

KEMET Polypropylene Capacitors for Medium/High Power Applications offer an 800VDC to 3000VDC voltage range and a 1µF to 1000µF capacitance range. These capacitors are ideal for DC-AC filtering, snubber, and resonance applications. KEMET Medium/High Power Polypropylene Capacitors include the following series: C20A, C4AE, C4AF, C4AS, C4AT, C4AQ, C4BS, C4BT, C4C, C4DC, C4DE, C4DR. C4G, C44A, C44B, C44H, C44P, and C44U.
