Microchip Technology 32-Bit SAM L Microcontrollers

Microchip Technology 32-Bit SAM L Microcontrollers are ultra-low-power MCUs based on an Arm® Cortex®-M23 or Cortex-M0+ core. The SAM L MCUs feature innovative picoPower® technology, delivering power consumption as low as 25µA/MHz in active mode, under 100nA in sleep mode, and fast wake-up times of 1.2µS. In addition to ultra-low-power capabilities, these devices feature an enhanced Peripheral Touch Controller (PTC), robust security, Arm TrustZone® technology, Advanced Encryption, and Standard (AES) encryption. These devices are ideal for battery-powered IoT and wearables.

The SAM L10 MCUs offer ultra-low power with a 12-bit ADC, analog comparators, Peripheral Touch Controller (PTC), true random number generator, and tamper detection. SAM L10 MCUs run at 32MHz, consume under 25µA/MHz in active mode and 100nA in sleep mode, and feature integrated op-amps and a 10-bit DAC.

The SAM L11 MCUs build on the SAML10 with extra security features, including crypto engine (AES-128, SHA-256, and GCM), Arm TrustZone, secure boot, an additional Memory Protection Unit, and data scrambling in Data Flash.

The SAM L21 MCUs feature a 12-bit ADC, analog comparators, PTC, and security functions (AES and true random number generator). These devices run at 48MHz and consume under 35µA/MHz in active mode and 200nA in sleep mode. The L21 MCUs feature integrated op-amps, a full-speed USB Host and Device, and a 12-bit DAC.

The SAM L22 MCUs are similar to the SAM L21 but run at 32MHz, come with a segmented LCD controller (up to 320 segments),a full-speed USB Device, and have 100-pin options.
