Intel OLEA U310 System-on-Chip

Intel OLEA U310 System-on-Chip (SoC) enhances the overall performance of electric vehicles (EVs) and ensures seamless operation across various EV charging platforms. This SoC offers a complete solution that integrates both hardware and software and is designed to meet the powertrain domain control needs in electrical architecture with distributed software. Built with a hybrid and heterogeneous architecture, a single OLEA 310 field programmable control unit (FPCU) can replace up to six standard microcontrollers in a system combination where it controls an inverter, a motor, a gearbox, and an onboard charger. Intel OLEA U310 SoC offers up to 5% improvement in energy efficiency, 25% motor downsizing for the same power output, 35% reduction in cooling needs, and up to 30x downsizing of passive components compared to current EVs. These benefits allow EV manufacturers to design software-defined electric vehicles with superior performance and improved range.
