Molex QSFP Connectors

Molex QSFP Connectors are designed for high-density applications. Components of this Molex system include the electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding cage, passive cable assembly, and a 38-circuit SMT host connector. Molex QSFP connector, cage and cable assemblies, and loopbacks are part of a highly integrated system that combines optimal real estate, power, and port density.

Features

  • One-piece, press-fit cage helps to provide cost-effective manufacturing
  • 360° EMI cage shielding to bezel and transceiver prevents EMI interference
  • Zinc diecast back shells on cable plug for 360° EMI signal shielding
  • Multiple ports, nearly 4 times greater density than standard SFP
  • Initial data rates up to 5Gbps per lane, scaling up to 10Gbps per lane, higher overall bandwidth than standard SFP
  • Hot-pluggable transceiver allows insertion and removal of plug without powering down system
  • Optional serial management interface enables management functions similar to optical solution
  • 0.80mm pitch connector designed for placement under guide frame, ideal for external applications
  • SMT connector design provides option for placement on both sides of PCB and allows ease of routing
  • Optical QSFP cable assembly meets QSFP interface specification

Applications

  • Switches
  • Routers
  • Host bus adapters (HBAs)
