pSemi UltraCMOS® RF Digital Step Attenuators

pSemi UltraCMOS® RF Digital Step Attenuators (DSAs) offer flexibility and performance for wireless and broadband infrastructure equipment, LMRs, test-and-measurement equipment, and military RF applications. pSemi UltraCMOS RF DSAs are offered in 50Ω and 75Ω variants, with multiple programming mode options, including serial, direct parallel, and latched parallel, making it easy to design them into a wide range of systems. These devices offer leading linearity, outstanding attenuation accuracy, and low insertion loss.

Glitch-less DSAs

The 75Ω PE4314 and the 50Ω PE43711, PE43712, and PE43713 DSAs offer glitch-less attenuation state transitions. When switching attenuation states with a DSA, there is a brief "glitch" or transient spike in output power. This glitch, if left alone, could lead to degraded signal quality and possible damage to power amplifier sub-assemblies. To minimize this glitch, engineers deploy a software or firmware workaround that reduces the effect of this transient spike. With these glitch-less DSAs, this output power glitch is significantly reduced to less than 0.5dB, decreasing engineering overhead and preventing damage to expensive sub-assemblies.
