Skyworks Solutions Inc. Si8751 & Si8752 Isolated FET Drivers

Skyworks Solutions Inc. Si8751 and Si8752 Isolated FET Drivers with Pin Control or Diode Emulator Inputs present a simple way to create custom solid-state relay (SSRs) configurations. The devices combine robust isolation technology with an SSR FET driver. This forms a complete isolated switch with efficient FET gate drive capability and robust isolation. Flexible outputs support driving AC or DC load configurations. Inputs provide digital CMOS pin control (Si8751) or diode emulation (Si8752) to suit the application appropriately.

The FET drivers generate their own self-contained gate drive output voltage. This reduces the size, cost, and complexity. The Si8751 and Si8752 cancel the need for bulky mechanical relays. The design can be effectively optimized for the application, with the customer selecting their own flexible FET switch. The Si8751 and Si8752 drive FET gates with a nominal 10V, using a minimum 1mA input current. Typical applications include motor controls, valve controls, battery monitoring, and HVAC relays.
